Yoga:
Unite body, mind and spirit. Connections are created through
a physical practice integrated with breathing techniques
to deepen inner awareness. As we settle and relax into
our bodies and calm our minds a relationship can exist
with our true essence.
Physical strength is gained through
a regular practice including sun salutations, backbends,
twists and inversions. Pranayama (breathing practice)
not only teaches us how to breath properly, but more importantly
gives us the opportunity to stimulate and move our vital
energies throughout our physical and subtle bodies.
The
primary benefit of a yoga practice is this balancing affect
on the mind and body. The mind tends to be erratic in
thought and those thoughts dictate how we live our lives.
Through the practice of yoga we learn how to control the
erratic nature of the mind, calm the nervous system, which
results in an overall sense of well-being.
Yoga
Therapy:
Many people find that gentle yoga helps them feel better,
calms their nervous system, and helps rehabilitate old
injuries. The technical aspects of yoga are important
for diagnosis and applying prescriptive techniques. Healing
and personal growth are individual processes that takes
patience, compassion and understanding.
Working together
one on one in yoga therapy allows Suzanne to create a
practice which is focused on the individual needs of the
client. This will include the physical, mental and emotional
aspects of health and healing.
